National Minimum Wage Rates to increase on 1st April 2026

The Government has announced its acceptance of the Low Pay Commission’s recommendations on the rates of the National Minimum Wage (NMW), including the National Living Wage (NLW).

The rates which will apply from 1st April 2026 are as follows:

  • National Living Wage (21 and over)  £12.71
  • 18-20 Year Old Rate  £10.85
  • 16-17 Year Old Rate  £8.00
  • Apprentice Rate  £8.00
  • Accomodation Offset  £11.10

You can speak to your employer about the increase taking place as they may not realise this. They may need to talk to their direct payment support provider if they are worried about covering the new rate within their budget.
